To place data-envelopes in the context of the other initiatives, this table compares the purposes the most relevant initiatives serve.

The table makes it clear that many initiatives are complementary, addressing different purposes.

Data-Envelopes share the same purposes as Datasheets for DCH, an initiative with which we are working in close collaboration. They also share the purposes of Croissant ML, however Croissant ML is currently focused on more technical types of datasets. Croissant ML is developing a profile for Digital Humanities, which may provide the opportunity to collaborate in the future.
